Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety is one of the most common reasons families seek treatment. Children and adolescents may experience excessive worry, separation anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, specific phobias, or generalized anxiety that interferes with school, relationships, sleep, or daily activities. Treatment focuses on helping young people understand anxiety, develop effective coping strategies, gradually face fears, and regain confidence using evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Eating Disorders
Child CBT provides specialized treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). As a Certified Family-Based Treatment (FBT) therapist, Dr. Brown partners closely with families and other providers, including pediatricians, psychiatrists, and dietitians, to provide compassionate comprehensive care for eating disorders that supports physical and psychological recovery and healthy development.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors can become overwhelming for both children and families. Child CBT specializes in treating OCD using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard psychological treatment for OCD. Treatment helps children and adolescents reduce compulsions, manage intrusive thoughts, and return to the activities that matter most.
Depression
Depression can affect motivation, relationships, school performance, and overall well-being. Treatment focuses on helping young people better understand their emotions, reconnect with meaningful activities, strengthen coping skills, and improve overall functioning.
ADHD
Children and adolescents with ADHD often struggle with attention, executive functioning, emotional and behavioral regulation, anxiety, social skills, and school performance. Treatment helps families develop practical strategies that improve functioning at home, in school, and in everyday life.
Parent Consultation
Parents are an essential part of a child's growth, development, and success. We work collaboratively with caregivers to better understand their child's needs, strengthen communication, and provide practical strategies that support progress both during and outside of therapy.
Young Adult Therapy
The transition to adulthood can bring increased independence along with new academic, social, and emotional challenges. We work with young adults navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, ADHD, perfectionism, relationship concerns, and life transitions — helping them develop resilience and confidence for the future.
